Oh my goodness, this week Bear, yes Bear has been trying to wake his sister up! You would think after holiday he would be getting up later BUT no anytime between half past four and half past five! Really even the milk man doesn’t deliver this early!
Day one: Week one!
Bear wakes up at 4.30am, yes you read that right, 4.30am! He obviously is taken back to bed and the cat willow is looking at us very strangely as she wants to play.
Bear then decides to sign and talk to himself for a good 15 minutes before going back to sleep until 6am… thank goodness it’s Sunday tomorrow….
We spent the afternoon running around the garden yesterday to wear him out… bed was 7.30pm after a nice long bath, we have the Gro black out blind, a roller black out blind and a particle black out blind… will I get a layin, nope he is up at 5.30! Seriously I can not wait for the teenage years to kick in…
5am and Bear is awake jumping on Bell’s bed and guess what she is now WIDE awake! I’m hoping once the clocks go forward Bear may sleep in!
Dispute going to bed at 7.15pm Bear was up well before 4.45am! I’ve taken him back to bed at least 3 times! I am going to pop to Neals yard tomorrow and ask them for some advice they may have a cream or bath oil which may help…
I didn’t get to Neals yard instead I ended up in boots and brought some lavender bubble bath for children… it worked sort of bed at 7.30pm but up at 5.45… we really getting there slowly….
Oh my goodness sleep is so over rated! Bear was up at 5am! 5am! We didn’t change anything we used the lavender bubble bath, the blinds and bed at 7.30… Bell decided it was fun to wake every 45 minutes last night…
So who’s bright idea was it to cut out sugar when Bear doesn’t sleep? Yep mine, I am so glad I don’t mind early mornings but geeze 5am again! Time for a rethink on the bedtime routine!!!! Bell decided to wake up every 2 hours last night too!
Okay… to me it’s a very American tradition. The Elf which arrives on the 1st December every year. The Elf is sent by Father Christmas to come and keep a eye out on your child and make sure they are being good so they can stay on the nice list.
Every family seems to do things differently.
Last year (2015) we had Buddy the naughty Elf to visit. Oh he was a pickle he ate all the chocolates out the sweet box, he swung from the light shades and he even knocked over the Christmas tree amongst other things.
Bear and Bells favourite thing last year was their pants and knickers on the Christmas tree!
Some families have a nice Elf come to stay. They do really helpful and kind things. They leave notes to say thank you for having me, bring some thing of the children’s favourite things, leave the chocolate box untouched, do the ironing and the hoovering.
I’m hoping the nice Elf comes this year.
The Elf goes Christmas eve morning so he can help santa prepare for the long night he has ahead of him… He leaves nice breakfast and a Christmas eve box which has new pj’s, dvd, hot chocolate and a snack.
Will you be having a visit from A Elf this year? I hope we do…..
Bear was around 18 months old, and we had a day shopping at our local shopping center.
Bear was very slow in talking, his speech didn’t really start until he was almost two years old and he would not stop talking or parrorting everything everybody was saying.
Bear had a growth spurt so we Popped out shopping as I didn’t have work, housework was done and to be honest I really needed to get out the house for a bit.
We had a slow walk around the shops, brought the essentials for Bear, spent the last of his birthday gift voucher and Popped into the Disney store.
Whilst we were walking round. Bear spotted the balloon stall, he kept pointing to the helicopter balloon and I said to him (this sounds like I’m a naggy mum but to be honest I really didn’t want to buy a balloon!!!) , if he could say Helicopter I would buy it for him, we went into another shop and then went to make our way home. On the way back we passed the balloon stall again and as clear as day Bear pronounced Helicopter as clear as day… and true to my word I brought the balloon. I was very proud as Helicopter is a very hard word to say at 19 months old!!!!
So my warning here is be careful what you say as it may leave you out of pocket….
I know I have said it before but Cancer truly suck’s! Bear and Bell have truly given me plenty of sunshine through the rain, since mum passed away from cancer.
They are happy, content children. They do have tantrums, they can be horrible as they are both stubborn and there is no reasoning with them when they have their tantrums!
Bringing up stubborn children is so hard, most probley as I am stubborn too.
We now have a reward chart for good behavior and helpfulness inside and outside the home.
We have a Gro-Clock for Bear (and Bell). It is mostly for Bear as he has been waking up at 4.45am for the day. What with Bell waking up 2-3 times a night I was exhasuted! Physically and Emotionally. Things are getting so much better now we have the Gro-Clock we have set the Sun to come up at 6.30 am and it does work most day’s.
Bell is still waking up for milk but we have swapped milk for just water so hopefully in a few days or a couple of week’s she will sleep all night.
But apart from the sleeping , or lack of it they are certainly my sunshine after the rain….
I feel sad that Bear and Bell have to share a bedroom, I would so love them to have their own personal space where they can chill-out and have their own me time. Living in a flat is so hard at time’s, especially day’s when I know Bear want’s his own space and his own time now his getting bigger.
It is also hard to think about making a lovely bedroom for a boy and girl which won’t look odd, which they won’t grow out of and especially they both will like. I choose originally half pink and half blue bedroom which was nice but Bell and Bear drew on the walls! Hubby was in charge! Now they have white lining painted wall’s, beautiful Bunting and some of their stunning art work! It work’s really well.
When Bear was born I was very adamant that he wouldn’t have clothes, bedroom or bedding with character’s on such as Pepper Pig or Thomas the tank engine. I feel quite proud that he hardly had anything like that. Please do not get me wrong he had a few bit’s of Thomas the Tank clothing but that was about it. Same with Bell, she has a few Pepper Pig bits of clothing and Shoes but nothing over the top.
Please also do not get me wrong the Nightie and Pajamas draw is full of character’s such as Elsa from Frozen, Pepper pig, Spider-man and Toy story.
I don’t know why I don’t really like character clothing on children. It does look cute, but for me personally growing up their wasn’t a wide range of clothing like that, so I never had that type of clothing.
If Bell and Bear ask for something with Pepper Pig or Spider man I certainly will not say no, as it is their personal choice and I fully encourage their development of personal choice and independence.
