We have a new addition to the family!

I haven’t written or a while life has just gone very manic, I’m officially now back to work 2 and a half days! Also still trying to catch up with the summer holiday’s. I need to write about our week in Lanzarote. But  Last weekend with all the manic going around we got a little addition to our family. We got Woody the kitten!

His so playful and active, Daisy isn’t too keen but Willow has taken him under her paw and is acting like mum!

He is certainly going to be a little character!

I have so much to write about with Christmas just around the corner and then its Easter where we are planning to be out of Kent for a good two weeks! We have already started to plan summer 2018 too! My aim for Summer 2018 is to spend as little as possible at home as its Bell’s last summer before she starts school!

So I will leave you with a few adorable pics of Woody whilst I update the blog…

Crazy Claw By Drumond Park

Entertaining little ones over the winter months can be very hard work, especially when it is pouring down with Rain! . We love baking, craft, playing games  and chilling in front of the TV. Bear and Bell have only just really started to get into table-top games. Which is a good thing especially in the darker and cold months.

When we went shopping just before Christmas to have a look for last minute ideas,  Bear choose the game Crazy Claw, We as a family were lucky enough to be able to review the game over the Christmas holidays

Crazy Claw is a game designed for children aged 4 years plus and is ideal for two -four players. It is based on a arcade style game and is  great fun for both the older and younger generation. The aim of the game is very simple but it’s also  very effective too. The aim of the game is to collect the matching tokens to the matching cards by pounding the paddles to get the coloured balls bouncing, the first one to match all the tokens wins the game. With Bell we changed the game slightly so she could join in and we tried to collect the same colour balls.

To get the balls each player as a go with the claw to get a ball which has a token inside, which is taken out if it matches your Card and then the empty ball goes back in. The game retails at £22.99, to be honest I personally would be happy to pay around £18 for this game if I bought it myself.

The setting up of the game is very simple to do and takes a couple of minutes, which is brilliant for parents and children who are egar to play and especially as it needs to be put up and taken down every time you wish to use it, but as I have said it takes a couple of minutes to do. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow.  We did find the balls a bit fiddly to open, but this could be that they are new or that I can’t even open a Kinder Egg toy tub so that could be the main reason!

You can find where to buy the game by visiting http://www.drumondpark.com/index/index.php

There are also some fab games on the website too!

We have a short video on how easy it is to set up the game over on the YouTube channel.

Merry Christmas

We have had a busy few months. I decided to have my own website for blogging, which is Bellandbear.co.uk. I have reviewed some lovely products by Interplay UK. Bell has tested out some lovely Shampoo by Vosene Kids . We visited Kent Life for their Spooky Halloween Week and we have had some fun bath time ideas too!

My favourite and the hardest post I have written this year is Being a Mum without a Mum. It was very hard to write it took me ages to get the words down. I found after I wrote it I felt happier. I am not going to bombard everyone with stories of being a mum without a mum but it does help others in the same place. Why not have a read?

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I have also started my own YouTube channel too!

I have a few exciting blog posts coming up for January 2017.

I will be working along side Teal Anchor . Which is a company which provides handmade body and facial scrubs which aren’t tested on animals and are Vegan friendly. The product is also Organic. I am very excited about trying this out as my skin is feeling very dry and looking very dull at the moment. Here is there Instagram page if you fancy checking it out over Christmas. Have a look at Teal Anchors Instagram here!

We have also been reviewing a game by Drumond Park and I have a review on my YouTube channel coming soon! But in the mean time why not have a look at the Little Live Pets Review I have done. Click here to view!

I will also be writing a Post about Healthy Packed lunch boxes.. The lovely people at Fruit Bowl have sent me some lovely products to include. Bell will enjoy these when she goes back to pre-school.  Why not have a look at their website for more information. Here’s the website!

My Last but not least is reviewing a Sleep Story. We have already started to review this and the review will be on the blog soon! If you don’t know already we have had battles with Bear waking up between 3.30-5am to start the day, We have also had Bell refusing to go to sleep until 8.30/9pm which is most of our evening gone. Why not have a look at their website.

And not forgetting my usual family life blogs  and YouTube Videos in between!

I would love to work with more Brands and companies in 2017. If you are a PR for a company I would love to hear from you!

I would also love to guest post too so If you are a Blogger and you feel we could work well together please feel free to contact me!

Now I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays , Happy Christmas. And also a healthy  and Happy 2017.

Thank you for reading and I hope you will enjoy what’s to come in 2017 I am very excited!

Christmas Tradition

When I was younger we always used to see Family on Christmas Eve and Boxing day. We always used to have Chinese on Christmas eve too.

These have still stuck now I have my own two children.

As a family we have two other  Christmas Traditions, Every year we buy one or two new decorations, which the children choose themselves and they go into a box (I have to take a photo of what decorations they have each so they go into the right boxes) The plan is when they either leave home or get married (I can’t decide which one as of yet!)  they will get their  box of Christmas decorations.

We also have Buddy the Elf who comes to visit! The Elf on the Shelf is a American tradition which has come over from across the pond, well the big ocean to be totally honest. The Elf can be naughty or nice, our elf does a bit if both. He comes from the North Pole to watch over the children and report back to Santa. The children really enjoying seeing what he gets up to and we take photos daily, or when I remember to do so!

I asked Being Tilly’s Mummy what her family’s Christmas Tradition is and here is what she say’s

“Every Christmas Morning my older kids and Tilly all get in bed with me to open our stockings. The older two are 24 and 21. This year there is my son’s girlfriend Amber and that’s going to be strange for her to get into bed with us all.”

I also had a lovely chat with A free from Life about their Christmas traditions and here is what she say’s

“My Youngest has his birthday on Christmas day, so every year we have Christmas in the morning and birthday in the afternoon. It’s spilt with lunch midday- Christmas Dinner with birthday cake for pudding!”

Last but not least is Me, My life and the Tardis

“In my house we have an traditional that accidentally formed. We all go off and do our own things for a few hours because my mum normally needs a afternoon nap as she has had about a bottle of baileys!”

As you can see everyone’s Christmas Traditions are very different but very special to each family.

What are your Christmas Traditions?

What I love about Christmas

Okay, Yes, I am aware we are still in November, but I thought I would share a few things I love about Christmas. Why? One main reason I have writers block again and I am sitting in the coffee shop drinking skittles milkshake and eating a chicken and bacon panni (oh yes I can multitask!)

 Let’s start with Christmas Traditions!

Ever since I was little I always remember having Chinese on Christmas eve. And it has stuck ever since. Just like visiting dad’s side of the family Christmas eve and mums side boxing day it still has stuck.

A new tradition we have is “Buddy the Elf” he comes from the North Pole and keeps a eye on the children and goes back at night time to let Santa know if they are being naughty or nice, but when he comes back he either does something really helpful, plays a trick or does something really naughty! This makes Bear Laugh and he still remembers Buddy the Elf putting his pants on the Christmas tree. I feel this adds to the Magic of Christmas!

wp-1478605129899.jpg wp-1478605111476.jpg

I also love Christmas because of the films, these are my top 5, they are mostly about children and adults not believing in the magic of Christmas. Which to me just adds to the magic!

  1. Miracle on 34th street
  2. Elf
  3. The polar Express
  4. Santa Claus – The Movie
  5. Arthur Christmas

If you haven’t seen them do!

I love the decorations and the tree.

I love the magic on the children’s faces on Christmas morning, when they look under the tree and see presents which haven’t been there the night before. The magic of putting reindeer food out and leaving the magic key (we live in a flat!).

I am one of these strange people who love wrapping presents, especially if the tree is up, it is so nice sitting on the floor, with a Christmas film on, a small glass of wine  and a box of chocolates.

The one thing I dislike about Christmas is family who are no longer with us. It does get easier every year but it never gets easier. If that makes sense?

I also don’t celebrate New year’s eve, I personally think it should be a time to remember, reflect and think about how the following year can be better.

As I get older I realise it isn’t the receiving that makes the magic happen, it’s the kindness and generosity of others, the spending time with people that matter and if you are luckily enough to receive a gift the thoughtfulness which goes into it.

I am feeling very excited that the Magical month of December is coming and that we will be meeting Santa to ask him nicely what we would like, mine would be kindness and compassion around the world, and a BMW mini cooper. (okay I’m pushing my luck there I know!)

Bell and Bears Christmas wishlist

Christmas is catching up on us slowly but surely.

Last night after school we had a look through the catalogues and these are what they would love… they have chosen very similar

  1. Playmobil

Bell loves animals so this would be perfect for her

Bear has almost the whole set of the emergency services so this will complete the set

2.Lego

Who doesn’t love Lego, now Bear is 5 I don’t think Christmas would be complete without a box or two of Lego to make up

3. Books

Bears reading is really improving and he keeps looking at the Dirty Bertie books, Bell loves fairies I know she’s too small to read but we already have one Rainbow Magic book which we sit and read and she loves listening

4. VTECH kiddie zoom range

Bell and Bear really can not decide what they would love more from this collection, and I have to agree VTECH is a brilliant make and practical toy for all ages!

It Has got me thinking of my christmas  wish list.

What do I really need?

What Would Be practical?

So here is my Christmas wish list for 2016

  1. Canon EOS 1200D DSLR Camera with 18-55 Lens – Grey. I would love a camera to use instead of my Samsung Galaxy S6

  2. Asus VivoBook E200 11.6 Inch Atom 2GB 32GB Laptop. I so need a new laptop. My current one keeps going funny and loosing the screen image!
