We booked a long weekend at Haven Weymouth Bay. It didn’t take too long to get there even though we visited about 5 service stations on the way and got stuck in traffic!
When we finally arrived at 9pm, we did leave at 4.30pm, we were checked in with security but on the way to the caravan we noticed movement inside, we knocked and there was another family in there. We went back to the Security and were given another caravan key and we were lucky it was slightly bigger and felt very roomy.
The site was very clean and tidy and the caravan was only a couple of years old, and still felt brand new!
On Saturday we went swimming, Bear was up at 5.30am wanting to go swimming, we had a good few hours until 9.30 when the pool opened, so we had a wander around the site and cooked breakfast.
When we got into the pool it was lovely and warm, and also very clean and tidy. They had a lazy river which we could walk around which started of inside and went outside, it was freezing but after a few times round you didn’t even notice the cold air or the breeze. The lazy river did get very busy though!
Every where we went in the complex everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Saturday night we tried to get into the Live lounge but it was so busy, we went back home and tried their sister site Sea view which was a short walk away through a nature trail and it was less busy and we managed to enjoy a evening, dispute Bear wanting everything and everything from the shop which was situated in the back of the Live lounge.
We had dinner over in the bar in the Sea view complex on Sunday night and the food was lovely especially the chips, there was a Sunday carvery but no one mentioned this to us, which wasn’t too much of a problem but it would of been nice.
All the staff at both Weymouth Bay and Sea view where very helpful and couldn’t do enough for the guests, there is security on both complex’s and everyone’s passes where checked before they could enter the main areas. This gave a great peace of mind when the children were running around the arcade area. The security team are very approachable and children could go and report any problems and they dealt with them swiftly.
The walk to the beach wasn’t as far as they mention on their website but it certainly isn’t buggy or wheelchair friendly as you need to go over a country fence and walk through another caravan site. The beach has a fun fair type area, ice cream shop, fish and chip shop, a restaurant and of course a gift shop.
The beach is pebbly and a small area of sand. The river also meets the sea here which is really lovely to see and I found it very tranquil.
Weymouth beach is just 15 minutes drive and parking is very reasonable, there is the sea life centre, a small beach fun fair, lots of shops and restaurants. There were volleyball players when we went, playing a few games on the beach. The beach is very dog friendly so if you have little ones who are a bit scared please do be aware, they usually stay near where the Jurassic tower end is.
Overall we had a lovey time here and will most likely go back sometime in the future!
